JOTA at the Boree Regatta

Jamboree On The Air, (JOTA) is an annual event in which Scouts, and later Guides, all over the world connect with each other by means of amateur radio.

Since 1995, over the third full weekend in October, Jamboree On The Air (JOTA) has been an activity of the Endeavour Boree Regatta.

Members and friends of The St George Amateur Radio Society (SGARS) setup and operate an amateur radio station. Guides and scouts can talk to other youth members locally, around Australia or the world. Alternatively, youth members can test their skills to find a radio transmitter hidden within the Boree camp site.

Participation and Challenge Badges

All youth members participating in JOTA activities, will receive a Jamboree On The Air badge, specifically designed for Australia.

By completing some additional tasks, youth members can also earn a Radio Challenge Badge provided by Australian Ladies Amateur Radio Association (ALARA).
